El primer convoy del Tren Maya, compuesto por cuatro vagones, salió de la planta de Alstom en Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, con destino a Cancún, Quintana Roo, según informó Javier May, responsable del proyecto y director del Fondo Nacional de Fomento al Turismo (Fonatur).
La unidad de tipo estándar, prevista para transportar a 230 pasajeros una vez que entre en funcionamiento, salió de las instalaciones hidalguenses alrededor de las cinco de la mañana del 3 de julio y está previsto que llegue a los talleres del estado sureño el 8 de julio para ser sometida a las primeras pruebas estáticas.
A través de un comunicado en video, Maite Ramos, directora de la empresa ferroviaria Alstom, detalló que en el proceso de manufacturación del primer tren participaron más de mil 300 personas tan solo en Ciudad Sahagún.
Desde que inició el trayecto, el traslado de los vagones a Cancún estuvo supervisado por elementos de la Guardia Nacional y de la Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes. La vigilancia de la institución castrense se mantendrá a lo largo de todo el recorrido, durante el cual se involucrarán también las coordinaciones estatales de seguridad según las regiones por las que pase el tren.
Una vez en Quintana Roo, los vagones serán ensamblados y tendrán sus pruebas estáticas iniciales. A mediados de agosto, según anunciaron autoridades del Fonatur, comenzarán los ensayos de rodamiento, en los que el convoy recorrerá una parte de la vía que conecta a Cancún con Mérida.
El mismo día en que se dio el banderazo a esta unidad, Maite Ramos acudió a la conferencia matutina del presidente Andrés Manuel López Obrador e informó que el proyecto contemplará un total de 42 trenes con cuatro coches, lo que se traduciría en una capacidad para mover a nueve mil 660 pasajeros.
“Reiteramos nuestro compromiso de entregar dos trenes más en agosto, 13 trenes para diciembre y el resto de los trenes para el próximo año con la más alta tecnología”, anunció la directora de Alstom.
De acuerdo con Rutilio Escandón, gobernador de Chiapas, se prevé que el proyecto sea inaugurado en diciembre, por lo que se le daría el banderazo de salida con menos de la mitad de los trenes considerados para la obra.
Hasta la fecha de la presente publicación, el Tramo 1 del Tren Maya tiene 150 kilómetros de vía terminada de los 226 km. que lo componen, acorde con los detalles proporcionados por Javier May Rodríguez.
Asimismo, informó que el viaducto de Candelaria ya está concluido, mientras que los de Palenque, Tenosique y Escárcega continúan en proceso. Por su parte, la estación Escárcega y el Boulevard Palenque están a un 80% de su construcción, mientras que el Centro de Atención a Visitantes (Catvi) de Palenque está al 87%.
De igual forma, se han terminado nueve de los 12 puentes que se incluyeron en el proyecto, así como 143 de los 203 pasos peatonales, vehiculares y de fauna que se tienen previstos para el primer tramo.
Esta parte de la ruta pasará por siete municipios de Chiapas, Tabasco y Campeche, tendrá cuatro estaciones, dos paraderos, un taller, una cochera en Escárcega y una base de mantenimiento en Tenosique.
