🔸 El exboxeador renunció a su puesto en la Secretaría del Bienestar tras la denuncia
#DEPORTES | Erik Isaac “Terrible” Morales Elvira, exboxeador mexicano, dejó su cargo como titular de la Secretaría del Bienestar del XXV Ayuntamiento de Tijuana, encabezado por el alcalde Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, luego de que una trabajadora de la dependencia lo denunciara por abuso sexual ante la Fiscalía General del Estado de Baja California.
De acuerdo con información del medio ZETA, la víctima denunció que el pasado 4 de julio de 2025, mientras realizaba sus labores en el segundo piso del Palacio Municipal, fue llamada a la oficina de Morales. Allí, el exfuncionario presuntamente cerró la puerta, la abordó con insinuaciones sexuales y terminó agrediéndola físicamente.
“Me tomó de los brazos con fuerza… besó mi boca a la fuerza, pegó su cuerpo al mío… lo hizo a la fuerza”, relata la víctima en su denuncia, señalando que solo logró escapar cuando alguien tocó la puerta de la oficina.
Tras el ataque, la víctima no regresó a su trabajo por las secuelas físicas y psicológicas, y el 10 de julio presentó formalmente la denuncia ante Sindicatura Municipal y la Fiscalía estatal. El 11 de julio, el alcalde Ismael Burgueño Ruiz solicitó la renuncia inmediata de Morales Elvira, misma que fue confirmada por el secretario general del gobierno municipal, Arnulfo Guerrero León.
Antecedentes de denuncias contra Erik Morales
Esta no es la primera denuncia por abuso en contra del excampeón mundial de boxeo. En enero de 2024, una exempleada de su gimnasio lo acusó de haber intentado forzarla sexualmente en 2013. En ese momento, Morales desestimó las acusaciones argumentando que eran parte de una campaña en su contra impulsada por el equipo de la entonces alcaldesa Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, dado que él aspiraba a la alcaldía de Tijuana.
Erik Isaac Morales, de 48 años, nacido en Tijuana, es ampliamente reconocido por su carrera como boxeador profesional, donde obtuvo títulos mundiales en distintas categorías. En el ámbito político, inició como director del Instituto Municipal del Deporte de Tijuana (IMDET) entre 2007 y 2010. Posteriormente fue diputado federal por Morena en la LXIV Legislatura y en marzo de 2023 fue designado titular del INDEBC.
