En las últimas horas se viralizaron los mensajes publicados por la cuenta del emblemático personaje infantil, desatando la indignación de millones de usuarios en redes sociales.
La organización Sesame Workshop, responsable del emblemático personaje infantil Elmo, confirmó este lunes que su cuenta en la red social X fue hackeada y utilizada para difundir mensajes racîstas y antîsemîtas.
“La cuenta X de Elmo fue comprometida por un hacker desconocido que publicó mensajes rēpugnãntēs, incluyendo publicaciones antîsemîtas y racîstas. Estamos trabajando para restaurar el control total de la cuenta”, declaró un portavoz de la organización.
En lugar de los mensajes positivos habituales, los más de 650 mil seguidores del personaje encontraron publicaciones ofensivas, incluidas amenazas antîsemîtas y una referencia explícita a la investigación por tráfico sēxūãl de Jeffrey Epstein.
Aunque los mensajes fueron eliminados rápidamente, la cuenta todavía redirige a un canal de Telegram, desde donde un usuario se adjudicó el hackeo.
