Se puede apreciar en las imágenes los estallidos en el cielo nocturno y cómo el sistema “Iron Dome” localiza y destruye los proyectiles enemigos.
El lanzamiento de cientos de misiles contra ciudades Israelís provocó que se activarán las sirenas por bombardeo en aquel país que se encuentra en conflicto con Palestina.
“La Cúpula de Hierro” o “Domo de Hierro” es un sistema anti-misiles desarrollado por Israel, cuyo desarrollo estuvo a cargo de Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.
“El sistema multimisión contrarresta eficazmente cohetes, morteros y proyectiles de artillería, así como aviones, helicópteros y vehículos aéreos no tripulados a muy corta distancia”, explica la empresa en su página de internet.
Este sistema de defensa ha estado en funcionamiento desde hace una década y se ha adjudicado cerca de 2 mil 500 interceptaciones.
“Iron Dome ha desempeñado un papel fundamental en todos los conflictos desde entonces, al evitar que miles de cohetes golpeen a Israel, desde pequeños hasta grandes morteros y cohetes con diferentes alcances y ojivas”, señala la compañía.
