#DEPORTES La Selección Femenil de futbol de Quintana Roo, en la categoría Sub-17, cerró de buena manera su participación en los Juegos Nacionales Populares 2024, esto al lograr una medalla de plata para la entidad, luego de disputar la final con su similar de Estado de México, celebrado en Oaxaca de Juárez.
Este equipo y toda la delegación de Quintana Roo que compitió en este certamen con el respaldo de la Comisión del Deporte de Quintana Roo (CODEQ), como una de las acciones del Nuevo Acuerdo por el Bienestar y Desarrollo, que impulsa la gobernadora Mara Lezama Espinosa.
El equipo quintanarroense está conformado por Yesenia Berenice Hernández Rodríguez, Ana Michelle Díaz Corona, Kimberly Natasha Velazco Arceo, Karla Estefanía Méndez León, Karol Cristina Méndez León, Angie Camila Rodríguez Cumi, Shalia Nahima Canul Kumul, Andrea Dayrani Tziu Poot y Citlali Yasheli Can Rodríguez y fueron dirigidas por en profesor Leonardo Yah Pat.
Ya instaladas en la final, fue un partido que se jugó con mucha intensidad y muy cerrado, pese a que Quintana Roo fabricó jugadas de peligro no logró concretar, por su parte los mexiquense lograron descontar y eso les sirvió para quedarse con la victoria de 1-0 y de paso con la presea dorada; por su parte las quintanarroenses se adjudicaron la plata, cerrando una gran participación.
El camino del selectivo femenil tuvo un inicio triunfal en el torneo al vencer por 3-1 a su similar de Oaxaca; posteriormente, derrotó por 2-1 a Michoacán; y en su tercer compromiso superó por 2-0 a Nayarit y con ello Quintana Roo cerró como líder de su grupo de manera invicta y sumando 9 unidades.
En la fase de Cuartos de Final, las quintanarroenses reafirmaron su calidad derrotando por 1-0 al combinado de Guanajuato.
En tanto en las Semifinales, las cuales fueron cardíacas y se jugó con mucha intensidad, ya que finalizó 2-2 ante Durango y ya en la tanda de shot outs, Quintana Roo salió vencedor 2-1 y así avanzar a la final.
